The Moon in the Small Window

About 1 minAges 0–2, 3–4

Leo and Bear say good night to a bright corner of moon.

Leo looked through his little window.

There was the moon.

‘Hello, moon.’

Dad closed the curtains halfway.

There was still the moon.

Leo lay down on his pillow.

Now he could see one bright corner.

‘Can it see my bear?’ he asked.

Dad lifted Bear beside him.

Dad helped Bear wave a soft paw.

Leo waved a sleepy hand.

Dad tucked them both in.

The curtain moved. The bright corner disappeared.

But Leo knew the moon was outside.

And Bear was right here.

That was enough for tonight.

A little lesson to keep

Someone we love can help us feel cozy at bedtime.

Leo rests in bed with his eyes closed, while the mitten Bear looks toward the reader in a green knitted waistcoat.

If you have time for one more…

“I’m Bear. Would you like to hear my story?”
