Bunny had a pocket in her blanket.
What went in the pocket?
One soft leaf.
One little sock.
One wooden bunny with a wobbly ear.
Mama touched the pocket. ‘All tucked in?’
‘Not yet,’ said Bunny.
She put her paw inside.
Leaf, sock, bunny, paw.
Now everybody was close.
Mama tucked the blanket around Bunny.
Outside, the leaves went hush.
Inside, Bunny’s paw stayed warm.
‘Good night, pocket,’ she whispered.
And good night, Bunny.
